Position Overview:
The Senior Communications Manager will drive internal and external communications strategies to highlight Amazon’s initiatives, innovations, and community involvement within the Ontario region. This role requires a forward-thinking individual adept at managing multiple projects while strengthening relationships with various stakeholders, including media personnel, community leaders, and internal partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies that align with Amazon’s corporate mandate.
- Create, edit, and distribute engaging content across various platforms, ensuring clarity and a strong brand voice.
- Manage press relations and act as a spokesperson to respond to media inquiries.
- Coordinate and manage community engagement programs, aiming to foster strong relationships with local organizations.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of communications programs and channels through data analysis and reporting.
- Monitor local and regional news to provide timely and relevant communications support for all operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistency in messaging across products and services.
- Provide expert counsel on crisis communications, working collaboratively to mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or corporate communications.
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful communications strategies.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of digital communication platforms and social media dynamics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with the Ontario market and local media landscape is a plus.
